Starring: Edward Norton, Colin Farrell, Noah Emmerich and Jon Voight

This movie is about a family of New York City police officers and the corruption that is uncovered. Jon Voight plays a retired cop the father of Norton and Emmerich and Farrell is the brother in law. The movie starts off where a drug bust gone wrong ends the lives of 4 fellow police officers. Norton is asked by his father to lead a task force to investigate and find the killer of the officers. What he uncovers is corruption in the department and that his brother and brother in law are involved.

The movie started off a little slow and I had a hard time following what was going on until about a half hour into it. Once it got going I was glued to my seat and so enthralled into the characters. The movie is loaded with drama, plot twists, violence and suspenseful moments. There is a scene involving an infant that I had to turn my head away.  I was saying to myself no, no, don’t you dare hurt that baby.

The acting by Norton, Farrell, Emmerich and Voight was nothing less then superb. Each one of them in their complex roles were flawless and true to showing the emotion and intensely realistic life of a family of police officers. The ending could of delivered more forcefulness but is left up in the air for the viewer to figure out.

If you are into a good crime drama and don’t mind alot of profanity and violence then go see this movie. My rating is a 7.
