Coraline (2009) Animated
Voices of: Dakota Fanning, Teri Hatcher, Jennifer Saunders, Keith David, John Hodgman and Dawn French
The story is about a little girl who while exploring her parents new home unlocks a door to another world that of a duplicate reality in which it strangely simulates her life but much more bizarre and extravagant. Coraline encounters many different variations to her real life including a mother that wants to keep her in the peculiar world endlessly. Eventually finding out who she is inside and attempting to get back to the real world to be with her family.
This was genuinely a journey of adventure and self discovery, truly a movie I feel that can be liked by all family members. A mysterious twisted tale that definitely has it’s dark side and a few creepy moments. I would advise not taking small children to see this movie due to the fact it could make them have nightmares because of some unpleasant frightening images.
The animation and visual effects are visually impressive with a very deep and strong message about family. I enjoyed this animated fantasy film and give it a rating of a 6.
