Tha story is about a disheveled man while on the verge of losing his job needs to go to London for his daughter’s wedding. After a conversation with his daughter the news he recieves is very upsetting and disappointing. While out drinking away his sorrows he meets a woman who is going through some hardship of her own, sparking a connection between them.
Dunstin Hoffman and Emma Thompson were excellent in there roles, they had a profound connection that lit up the screen. The supporting actors gave decent performances but as far as the storyline I thought that it was rather boring. Not original and so predictable. There are many depressing scenes and not enough depth into the characters was portrayed .
I think Hoffman and Thompson made this movie much better than it actually was and I am surprised that this caliber of actors would take on such mediocre roles. My advise is save your money and stay home and watch reruns of The Brady Bunch or something. Because the leading and supporting actors performances were the only thing that even got me through the whole movie I give it a rating of a 4.
