The Pink Panther 2 (Currently In Top Ten At The Box Office)
Starring: Steve Martin, Jean Reno, Emily Mortimer, Alfred Molina, John Cleese, Andy Garcia and Lily Tomlin
Inspector Jacques Clouseau is back with a new assignment to stop a world traveling criminal who specializes in pilfering historical artifacts. Clouseau is amongst the most qualified and talented detectives that are teamed up to catch the thief.
The movie was not that bad, it is not nearly as good as the first one but there was plenty of slapstick comedy. The plot of the story is nothing like a great detective novel but I found it to be somewhat entertaining. Steve Martin is the king of buffoonery and you can’t help but laugh at his total lack of incompetence portrayed by his character. There are some standout performances from supporting actors. Besides John Cleese and Jean Reno I particularly liked the small role Lily Tomlin had and also there is a cameo appearance from Jeremy Irons who plays a possible suspect in the case.
All in all this is a family movie that most adults and children of all ages would enjoy, entertaining and funny! I give it a rating of a 5.
My son has been waiting to see this one for a while (he’s sitting next to me as I write this, and has threatened a revolt if I don’t take him to see it).
