Angels & Demons 2009 (Current Top Ten At Box Office)

Published by chris6818 under Crime, Drama, Mystery, Thriller Edit This

Starring: Tom Hanks, Ewan McGregor, Ayelet Zurer, Stellan Skarsgard, Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Pierfrancesco Favino

The movie is about a guy trying to solve a murder and prevent a terrorist attack that has been planned against the Vatican.

Of course Tom Hanks was on top of his game with his role as Robert Langdon. Even though I prefer Tom doing lighter comedic roles his dramatic ones such as this was nothing short of stellar! I found this movie to be extremely entertaining and very well done with an outstanding plot.

A few twists and a build up to the climax made this a solid thriller. The visual effects are amazing and the final explosive sequence of scenes is dynamic. This was a fast paced movie and I found it to be more exciting and enjoyable than The DaVinci Code.

I recommend this movie to anyone who loves a good mystery thriller exploring realms of history. Suspenseful and pure entertainment I give it a rating of a 7.

Next Day Air 2009 (Now Playing Currently Top Ten At Box Office)

Published by chris6818 under Action, Comedy, Crime Edit This

Starring: Mike Epps, Donald Faison, Wood Harris, Omari Hardwick, Emilio Rivera, Cisco Reyes and Mos Def

The movie is about 2 thugs who mysteriously recieve a package by mistake and it happens to be cocain. They keep it and think they have hit the jackpot which in turn triggers a chain of events that will affect the lives of 10 different people forever.

This movie was hilarious, Mos Def, Wood Harris  and Mike Epps were the standout performers and they were right on with their roles and playing them out. There is a bank robbery at the beginning of the movie that had me rolling on the floor laughing it was so stupid. The films plot and the things that the shipping company does in this movie are a little far fetched, at least I hope they are!

Need a good laugh, it was worth the price of admission so go see this one. I give it a rating of a 6.

The Taking Of Pelham 123 (Opens In Theaters On June 12th)

Published by chris6818 under Crime, Drama, Thriller Edit This

Starring: Denzel Washington, John Travolta, Luis Guzman, Victor Gojcaj, Robert Vataj, James Gandolfini and John Tuturro

This is a remake of the 1974 movie that starred Walter Matthau. The story of a day in New York City on a subway train that no one will ever forget. A hijacking by armed men on the train holding many passengers hostage for ransom.

Opens in theaters on June 12th and it is rated R for violence and pervasive language. The runtime is 121 minutes. This ought to be a very good crime thriller because 2 of my favorite actors are playing in it. John Travolta and Denzel.  Can’t wait to see if this is going to be as good as the original. My bet is that it will be better. Only thing I am disappointed in is that John Travolta is playing the bad guy.
