Powder Blue 2009 (New To DVD Tomorrow)

Published by chris6818 under Drama Edit This

Starring: Jessica Biel,  Eddie Redmayne, Forest Whitaker, Ray Liotta, Lisa Kudrow, Patrick Swayze and Kris Kristofferson

This is a montage story of 4 separate people from Los Angeles who are all brought together on Christmas Eve by an array of different circumstances and go through tragedy and divine intervention.

I was not to thrilled with this story. It was depressing and very emotional and doesn’t get any better. The acting could of been better and the plot only makes us realize just how our lives can end suddenly. Just not a cheery movie at all. I really didn’t like Patrick Swayze’s character, can’t believe he chose such a role. Forest Whitaker was the bright spot even though he was suicidal.

This movie is released on DVD tomorrow and I suggest not even spending the money to rent it. My rating is a 4.

Imagine That 2009 (Opens In Theaters On June 12th)

Published by chris6818 under Comedy, Drama, Fantasy Edit This

Starring: Eddie Murphy, Vanessa Williams, Bobbie J Thompson, Thomas Haden Church, James Patrick Stewart, Ronnie Cox and Mia Ford

The story is about a business man who is on a down spiral in his career as a financial executive and he is invited in to his daughter’s imaginary world where it seems that all his problems will have a solution.

This movie is rated PG for some mild language and brief questionable behavior. Filmed in Denver Colorado and it opens in theaters on June 12th.

Looks like this one will be pretty funny judging by the trailer. I do like Eddie Murphy but his last couple of movies I was not that thrilled with. We will see if this one will redeem him.

Angels & Demons 2009 (Current Top Ten At Box Office)

Published by chris6818 under Crime, Drama, Mystery, Thriller Edit This

Starring: Tom Hanks, Ewan McGregor, Ayelet Zurer, Stellan Skarsgard, Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Pierfrancesco Favino

The movie is about a guy trying to solve a murder and prevent a terrorist attack that has been planned against the Vatican.

Of course Tom Hanks was on top of his game with his role as Robert Langdon. Even though I prefer Tom doing lighter comedic roles his dramatic ones such as this was nothing short of stellar! I found this movie to be extremely entertaining and very well done with an outstanding plot.

A few twists and a build up to the climax made this a solid thriller. The visual effects are amazing and the final explosive sequence of scenes is dynamic. This was a fast paced movie and I found it to be more exciting and enjoyable than The DaVinci Code.

I recommend this movie to anyone who loves a good mystery thriller exploring realms of history. Suspenseful and pure entertainment I give it a rating of a 7.
