Angels & Demons 2009 (Current Top Ten At Box Office)

Published by chris6818 under Crime, Drama, Mystery, Thriller Edit This

Starring: Tom Hanks, Ewan McGregor, Ayelet Zurer, Stellan Skarsgard, Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Pierfrancesco Favino

The movie is about a guy trying to solve a murder and prevent a terrorist attack that has been planned against the Vatican.

Of course Tom Hanks was on top of his game with his role as Robert Langdon. Even though I prefer Tom doing lighter comedic roles his dramatic ones such as this was nothing short of stellar! I found this movie to be extremely entertaining and very well done with an outstanding plot.

A few twists and a build up to the climax made this a solid thriller. The visual effects are amazing and the final explosive sequence of scenes is dynamic. This was a fast paced movie and I found it to be more exciting and enjoyable than The DaVinci Code.

I recommend this movie to anyone who loves a good mystery thriller exploring realms of history. Suspenseful and pure entertainment I give it a rating of a 7.

My Bloody Valentine 3-D 2009 (Gore Phanatics Will Love This One)

Starring: Jensen Ackles, Jaime King, Kerr Smith, Betsy Rue, Edi Gathegi, Tom Atkins, Kevin Tighe and Megan Boone

This is about a man who narrowly escapes getting killed and returns to his hometown where it all took place 10 years after a valentine’s day massacre. After returning home another slew of murders start to happen and he becomes the suspect and is presumed guilty by the whole town, the only one who thinks he is innocent is his x girlfriend.

I just watched this movie last night and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it. There is definitely alot of gore for you fanatic’s out there. Being a fan of the horror movie genre I thought that I pretty much seen every kind of killing method and mutilation that there was to see. To my surprise this movie has a couple of scenes that really shocked me. The fact that the movie is in 3 D made it even better yet, getting the impression that body parts and other various objects will be flying right at you.

The plot of the movie is pretty much your slash em up, try and figure out the killer and maybe in the end the killer gets a taste of his own medicine. Well I thought I knew who the killer was after about a half hour into the movie then I changed my mind a few times, so in the end I was a little surprised!

All of the actors performed well and I do want to mention Kevin Tighe. In the mid 70’s he played on the TV show Emergency as a paramedic and I loved this show and use to watch it all the time. It was nice seeing Kevin again, slightly a different kind of role but a real treat.

Most of your movies that are remakes of older ones usually turn out horrible but I have to say that this one changes my mind and I recommend any horror gore fanatics to watch this one. My rating is an 8.
